Founder and Managing Partner
As principal, and CEO of Heslin Holdings Inc., Heslin is responsible for all corporate governance issues, strategic and tactical planning, corporate finance, allocation of capital and human resources, and approval of all proposed transactions. Heslin founded Heslin Holdings in 2003. Since then he has spearheaded the acquisition and development of over $1 billion in real estate assets for his various entities. Heslin is also the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Oak Coast Properties, a real estate investment firm based in Los Angeles. From 1989-2003, Heslin worked at publicly traded (NYSE) Smart and Final Inc. As an Officer and Corporate Vice President of Real Estate Development and Asset Management Heslin oversaw more than half a billion dollars in transactions during his tenure.
Heslin is heavily involved with industry organizations including the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Heslin also served as Chairman of the Board for Communities in Schools of Miami, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides a wide range of services to at-risk students in grades K-12 throughout Miami’s Dade County. Heslin actively participates and contributes to Food for the Poor and is an active participant in the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging. Heslin also serves as Chairman of Heslin Capital Partners, LLC, and recently served on the Board of Directors of JSerra Catholic High School. Heslin lives with his wife Coral and three Children in Orange County, California.
Heslin earned his B.A. from San Diego State University in Public Administration/Finance/Business Management.
Managing Partner and CFO
Chief Investment Officer and Principal of Heslin Holdings, Inc. Belanich oversees all financial, Legal and operational disciplines. From 2002 through 2009, Mr. Belanich held various positions with Diversified Equity Investment Corporation (renamed Fortus Property Group), in Irvine, California, most recently as Chief Investment Officer. In this capacity, Mr. Belanich was directly responsible for over $350 million of acquisitions and dispositions of the company’s real estate holdings as well as oversight of the asset management team. From 1985 through 2002, John held various positions with several Wall Street and private investment group.
Mr. Belanich has held the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation since 1993 and is a retired member of the Association For Investment Management and Research (AIMR). Mr. Belanich also holds a California Real Estate Brokerage License.
Mr. Belanich graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1984 receiving a BS in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Business and has completed post graduate coursework at both New York Institute of Technology and New York University in areas of Finance, Accounting and Real Estate.
Principal – Vice President of Acquisitions
As Vice President of Acquisitions, Casey McKeon oversees acquisition opportunities throughout the United States. As a seasoned real estate professional, McKeon’s experience entails leading a team of experts in projects through the acquisition, leasing, entitlement, financing, permitting, construction and disposition phases. McKeon has invaluable experience and strong relationships with retailers, landowners, brokers and city officials.
With an emphasis on value-add opportunities in the retail, industrial, medical, hospitality, office and multi-family sectors, McKeon specializes in sourcing off market opportunities that are either distressed or underutilized and re-positioning or re-developing them to their maximum value and potential. With access to a large amount of capital, McKeon is intently focused on putting this capital to work in order to source and acquire a large volume of value-add opportunities in each sector.
McKeon’s continued strategy is to partner with the best brokers and investors in each market to achieve this acquisition requirement as well as utilize Heslin Holdings’ compact and efficient corporate structure to underwrite and close on opportunities quickly to maximize their value.
McKeon is a graduate of the University of Southern California where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Corporate Finance and Real Estate Development from the Marshall School of Business.
As Acquisition Manager, Tim McKeon oversees the prospecting and database management of potential properties, tenants, as well as new investors for the company. Prior to Heslin Holdings, McKeon spent 3 years in the capital finance industry where he worked with C-level employees to tailor financing solutions to fit their company’s needs. He has extensive experience in documentation, underwriting, risk analysis, and transaction management. He prides himself on demonstrating professionalism and accountability in order to earn future business and develop long lasting relationships.
McKeon is a graduate of the University of Southern California where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Corporate Finance and Entrepreneurship from the Marshall School of Business.
As Acquisition Manager, Day’s priorities include building a portfolio of value-add acquisitions and forming relationships with perspective tenants as well new investors for the company. Day also oversees all marketing, and online outreach for Heslin Holdings.
Day is a recent graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, a Minor in History, and the Technology Management Program Certificate with a focus on: accounting, entrepreneurship, and marketing.
